Truth be told, a fresh college graduate with a BS in Computer Science makes more than a high school teacher with more than 20 years of service under his/her belt.
It saddens me that a so-called "career counselor" who gives career advices to hopeful high school students is making maybe $40k-$50k a year. What capacity does a "career counselor" posses? Does he/she even understand what goes on out there in the "real world"?
I truly believe that if we can pay our teachers and faculties more, we can attract more talented professional to educate and guide our children.
I think the hard working teachers who educate children for us deserve a bit more respect than that.
