Hopping from continent to continent

When I told one of my professor shortly after graduation that I landed a job in Australia and would march down there very soon, she exclaimed in delight:" what a wonderful experience! You just hop from continent to continent. Nothing could top that!" She referred to the fact that I had jumped from China, Asia to America, and then would jump again to Autralia. I was very happy to see the positive reaction from her, especially at a time when I had had so many advices and warnings from both my American and Chinese friends not to accept the offer. Her words certainly alleviated the level of my uncertainty one would normally feel when about to move to a totally new place.
