Day UNO
Arrived in Buenos Aires around 9:30 or so. We met up with the rest of the group (13 total), and were driven to our homestays. I'm staying with a woman named Ana who lives alone, but has 3 kids who are all grown up and have kids of their own. Ana lived in the states before, so she speaks a little bit of English, but I try to converse with her in Spanish the whole time. Her apartment is quaint and homey with a little balcony that overlooks other apartments in the area. My room is really small (about 9x7??) but I don't really mind. I figured out how to get the internet, so...I'm completely content right now!I've gotten to practice my Spanish a good amount so far. Ana showed me where the computer store was so I could walk there and buy a cable for the internet. I only had a 100 peso bill, and the Compumundo didn't have change, so I ended up walking to the restaurant next door and asking a waiter for change. I had to do that twice because the computer store didn't have the change I needed. At 8, we're meeting with the group to have dinner at a restaurant called Campechano (I think that's the name?). hey mom and dad, i got here alright, just set up the internet. i bought a cable for 22 pesos here, but i don't think it did anything, because i think i'm stealing internet from the neighbors. oops. haha. anyway, the woman i'm staying with is named Ana Pernias, she lives alone and has 3 kids who are all grown up and have kids themselves. my room is pretty small, about 9x7 or something. the bathroom is also really small, but i have my own so it's okay. i took a nap from 12:30-3:30 today, and now I have to shower and meet up with the group at 8 at a restaurant. i got to practice my spanish a lot already so that's good! i walked to the computer store after Ana showed me where it was. the store didn't have the change, so then i had to walk to the resturant next door and ask if they could exchange a 100. i'm excited and a little nervous!
love you and miss you guys
