自美国新闻与世界报导对美国大学进行排名20多年来，越来越多的有识之士对此有抵触，发展到今年有很多大学校长联名要求教育部停止这种排名。
理由是因为用于排名的指标数字除了一项外，其它都是由大学自己报出来的。
