 乌衣巷 - 刘禹锡

 

朱雀桥边野草花，

乌衣巷口夕阳斜。

旧时王谢堂前燕，

飞入寻常百姓家。

 

The Black Liveried Lane by Liu Yuxi

 

By weeds, the Vermilion Bird Bridge is overgrown,

In slanting sun, the Black Liveried Lane stands alone.

In old times, swallows always graced Wang’s and Xie’s Halls,

Now, they can only seek commoners’ eaves unknown.
