The Bored Book

One day, there was a brother and sister that always had a fight. There names were Jamie and James. Grandpa was reading a book and soon couldn't take their conflict anymore, so he decided to lead themto a secret doorway through the bookshelves so they wouldn't be bored. When Jamie and James lookedat the secret passageway they hurried up the stairs to see if there was anything exciting, making loud as they rushed. But when they got in the room all they saw were big piles of books, as usual. But just when they we were about to leave they saw big stacks of books called "The Bored Book." They decided to look inside. Instead of words they saw colorful pictures! Soon they saw that it was a big poster! When they took the poster out they saw lots and lots of pictures. But unbelievably when Jamie put her hands in a picture of a mountain with lots of snow her arms went in. Then Jamie and James both went in!Now they saw real mountains and it was really cold. But soon they saw a huge ogre with sharp teethand lots of hair! Jamie and James hurried and put their arms in a picture with arrows. They went in just before the ogre was about to eat them. When they went through there was a wall with a selection of pictures to choose from. James quickly put his arm in a picture with a pirate. Soon they were on a pirate ship and saw some pirates. The pirates quickly saw them and made them walk the plank. Behind them was a shark that were about to eat them. Jamie and James fell in the shark's mouth and they were covered in shark saliva! But under them was a carpet with pictures to choose from. Jamie and James had a fight about where to go next. Then Jamie finally agreed with James's idea which was a picture with a castle. By that time they saw lots of knights and a huge castle not that far away. But soon they saw a mad dragon that was breathing fire. There were holes in the poster and they fell into them. Now they just saw the door where they came from. Jamie lifted James up and threw him to the door because they were so tired. But Jamie got stuck in a picture with an octopus and the octopus lifted it's tentacles out of the picture and grabbed Jamie! But James pulled her as hard as he could to get her out. They were happy that they were back! They put the poster in it's original form (book form)and went to show it to grandpa. They told grandpa about their adventures. Unbelievably they saw booksof the adventures they have been to. They were called "Abominable Snowman," "Treasure Island,"and "King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table." There were also other books of places in the poster that they didn't go to. They happily read them!2009-12-17
