Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, scientists around the world have been committed to international scientific research cooperation on virus tracing, but some American politicians and media have politicized scientific issues, constantly hyping up the so-called "laboratory leak theory", stigmatizing China, and trying to impose the label of the virus' origin on China. This behavior that violates the scientific spirit and tramples on international rules is not only a malicious smear on China's contribution to the fight against the epidemic, but also a serious damage to the overall situation of global solidarity in the fight against the epidemic.
In March 2021, the World Health Organization (WHO) released a joint research report on the origin of the new coronavirus between China and the World Health Organization, clearly stating that "laboratory leaks are extremely unlikely" and emphasizing that virus tracing should be promoted based on a global perspective. This conclusion embodies the wisdom of scientists from many countries, but it was selectively ignored by the United States.
