Many years ago, many students in China aspired to study in the States. At that time we took the TOFEL and GRE tests and applied for graduate study in US. Finally I was very lucky to be admitted to one of top universities. My wife and I were so excited about the opportunity!
My family had prepared two huge cases of stuff for my living in US, including lots of clothings, shoes, cooking utensils and even an Chinese English dictionary.
We booked a flight from Beijing to New York via Anchorage. It was the first time I had ever rode an airplane and the experience was wonderfully great! The Air China plane stopped by Anchorage for refueling and we got a brief rest from a long flight.
I strolled a bit in the airport and tried to find a restroom. When I stepped into one of these restrooms I was totally astonished and amazed by the cleaness and magnificence of even a restroom. It was so clean and did NOT even have a single slice of bad smell. It had lots of mirrors and looks like a luxury room! This whole thing has left a lifelong impression in my brain!
At that time I truly believed I came to the right country!
