2024独立日周末美加边境行(2)-Toledo Museum of Art (TMA, Part#1)

      为节约时间以便在博物馆看更多的展品，我们随便在DIA的Caffetiria 吃了晚饭，吃饭期间3个人把各自看到的有意思画作交流了一下，发现有几幅博物馆推荐的精品我没看到，于是按儿子给的导引，直奔这几幅画，算是尽量少给自己留点儿遗憾吧！

       离开DIA径直驱车前往定在Toledo的民宿，天彻底黑之前就找到了，已经晚上十点多了。以便第二天(周六，7月6号）有充足的时间去参观TMA。

      TMA离我所在的城市不太远，开车一个半小时。这个博物馆还是通过网友Willows介绍知道的，她说这个博物馆非常不错，当时(今年4月份）还有卡拉瓦乔的特展，自己想一个人开车去看看，可还是因为自己的胆怯和懒惰没有成行；这次儿子他们帮我实现了，只是遗憾的错过了卡拉瓦乔。这个博物馆确实不错，藏了好多大师的作品，尤其是她附带的玻璃展厅，更是让人眼前一亮；真是没想到在这样一个不起眼的小城市，还能有这样一个馆藏如此丰富的博物馆；感觉像挖到宝藏了一样

        蓝天，白云，红砖地，绿屋顶，给这个以希腊式大理石柱为主的，博物馆正门印衬得更加庄严肃穆。

      还有这些矗立在门前的现代雕塑，给博物馆增添了活泼灵动的气息。

      我们走过博物馆主场，没有入内，而是首先来到她的Glass Pavilion 参观。

        一进玻璃展厅首先看到的是莫奈的巨幅照片，仿佛他正看着面前这朵如睡莲的五彩花瓶，思考着如何把她画下来。

        莫奈的睡莲图衬托着Tiffany 繁花盛开的台灯，还有罗丹的思想者加持，好有意思的组合。

The comedy and satire found in the Italian theatrical traditions of Commedia dell'Arte inspired master Venetian glassblower and flameworker Gianni Toso to create this elaborate chess set. Toso grew up in the Catholic faith and later converted to Orthodox Judaism.

Merging his personal religious history with historical Venetian theatre, the chess pieces reference Franciscan Catholic and Hasidic Jewish traditions.

opposing black-robed pieces portray those of the Jewish faith. Toso explained, "On the Jewish side, the king is the written Law, the queen is the calendar that represents the Holy Shabbat. [...] On the Roman Catholic side, the king, as the pope, is head of the church. The queen, or Sister, represents love for the church." Toso's flameworked pieces show in fine detail the appropriate costume, hairstyle, and accessory of each figure's respective rank. Included in these details are various

symbols of faith: crosses, Torahs, menorahs, and candles.

The white-robed pieces portray Roman Catholic worshippers while the

       透过这些晶莹剔透的玻璃展品，看到墙壁上都是印象派和后印象派的经典画作，突然一下明白了为什么一进门的莫奈真人照片被放在那里的用意！

       梵高的两幅画, 非常醒目，应该被奉为镇馆之宝了吧！

自己更喜欢这一幅，当今的Boston还能看到的街景！雨水打湿的方砖地面画的太逼真了。

   再看一下这里的玻璃艺术品有多丰富，基本囊括世界各地，不同时期各种风格，不愧为玻璃艺术收藏在美国甚至世界都名列前茅。

当然少不了我们中国的艺术，左边一组是12属相唐俑；右边一组是穿中山装的现代12属相。可以看得出新版的身体是谁的了吧

本来是想把整个博物馆喜欢的艺术品都在这集发完了，但帖照片时又哪个都不想落下，越贴越多，只好再开一集了。
