『道德经 第二十三章 』（天地尚不能久，而况于人乎）

 道德经上篇：《道经》

 

 第二十三章

 

【原文】

希言自然。故飘风不终朝，骤雨不终日。孰为此者，天地。天地尚不能久，而况于人乎。故从事于道者，同于道；德者，同于德；失者，同于失。同于道者，道亦乐得之；同于德者，德亦乐得之；同于失者，失亦乐得之。信不足焉，有不信焉。

 

【译文】

不言政令少扰民是合乎自然的，所以再大的狂风也刮不过一个早上，再大的暴雨也下不了一整天。谁制造的狂风暴雨呢？是天地。兴风起雨尚且不能持久，何况人呢？所以从事于道的，就同于道；从事于德的，就同于德；失道失德的，行为就是暴戾恣肆。凡是同于道的人，道也会乐于得到他；凡是同于德的人，德也乐于得到他；凡是同于失道失德的，就会得到失道失德的后果。统治者的诚信不足，人民自然不会相信他。

To speak little is natural.
High winds will not howl the entire morning;
A downpour will not last the entire day.
Who is behind the wind and the rain?
Heaven and earth.
Even heaven and earth cannot last long;
How can humanity?
Therefore, those who follow Tao identify with Tao;
Those who have virtue identify with virtue;
Those who are lost identify with loss.
Tao accepts those who identify with Tao;
Virtue welcomes those who identify with it;
Loss embraces those who identify with it.
Distrust is due to lack of faith.
