女儿所在学区三年级开始设天才班。不是真正的分班,只是被选中的孩子每周在一起上一堂课,大部分时间是用来做项目之类的,也参加些超出一般孩子水准的竞赛。天才班有名额限制,只能取学生总数的3-5%,必须是IQ在125以上,成绩优秀,再加上老师推荐。这一过程每年来一次,所以天才班的成员也是每年变化的。
(我这里,一是为说话方便,二是把 Gifted Class 直译,就称为天才班了,不是说这些孩子就都是天才,请读博的朋友不要误会。)
天才班第一次上课时,老师给了一些材料。其中一份是把聪明孩子与天才孩子做个比较,我觉得挺有意思,也颇受启发,就收藏了。下面是英文原文和中文翻译。
