女儿所在学区三年级开始设天才班。不是真正的分班，只是被选中的孩子每周在一起上一堂课，大部分时间是用来做项目之类的，也参加些超出一般孩子水准的竞赛。天才班有名额限制，只能取学生总数的3-5%，必须是IQ在125以上，成绩优秀，再加上老师推荐。这一过程每年来一次，所以天才班的成员也是每年变化的。
（我这里，一是为说话方便，二是把 Gifted Class 直译，就称为天才班了，不是说这些孩子就都是天才，请读博的朋友不要误会。）
天才班第一次上课时，老师给了一些材料。其中一份是把聪明孩子与天才孩子做个比较，我觉得挺有意思，也颇受启发，就收藏了。下面是英文原文和中文翻译。
