And on Wednesday evening Brooke Shields kept up with appearances as she made a stunning arrival to the Finding Neverland premiere in New York City.

The 49-year-old wore an elegant pink sleeveless dress as she carried a white leather purse, which was in no danger of slipping, as her hand was securely tucked under its flashy gold knuckle harness.

For the Broadway show's opening night, the Suddenly Susan actress looked elegant in a sleeveless pink dress that cut at the knee with a flared hem.

Her chestnut brown waves cascaded down her shoulders and she added a rosy pink lip to complement her outfit color.

And while she was styled to perfection, she likely found her strappy silver heels to be uncomfortable - as the poor fit crushed her toes together and a bunion slipped out the side of the shoe's footbed.

The beauty, who will turn 50 on May 31, looked fresh-faced and far younger than her years, sporting radiant and smooth skin.

So returning to modeling in her new role as the face of online luxury fashion retailer Mytheresa.com was an easy transition for the actress.

Brooke, who at 14 years old was the youngest person to grace the cover of Vogue, began modeling before she was aged one.

Her striking features landed her an Ivory soap commercial when she was an 11-month-old tot.

But it was in 1980 when she appeared in a provocative Calvin Klein commercial as a 14-year-old that catapulted her to fame.

Her words in the ad spot became iconic: 'You want to know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing.'

Speaking to The Guardian, she revealed that her career path - which was the subject of much controversy when she was underage - would be a difficult one to navigate for young girls nowadays.

'When I was younger, I was shielded from whatever controversy that surrounded my work,' she explained.

'But today, people can Tweet you, Facebook you, comment on any number of social media platforms which is harder to be shielded from.'
