Whether it's the long-awaited return of the vintage poodle skirt, or Balenciaga heralding the revival of the gingham overcoat, several '50s staples have made their way from the history books onto the runways.
Designers including Balenciaga, Carolina Herrera, Alexander McQueen and Calvin Klein have helped to kickstart the revival, sending hand-embroidered fit-and-flares, cropped merino sweaters, and Swiss Rebel-inspired back-combed quiffs down the runway to pique our interest.
