Tathra competitor wins best dressed in Fashions on the Field at Black Opal Stakes dayFashion forward Aimee Hay of Tathra caught the eye of the Fashions on the Field judges at the Black Opal Stakes day in Canberra and was crowned best dressed in the day’s competition.
There were over 40 finalists on the day from all categories, Mens, Over 40's, Best Millinery and Classic Ladies Race wear.
Ms Hay said it was a fabulous day.
“I had no expectations of winning and was only hoping to get into the finals,” she said.
“To be declared winner was a shock, there were so many lovely outfits and I was thrilled that the judges chose my classic outfit.”
Ms Hay wore a Bronx and Banco midi dress with a full length zip featuring on the back, bursting with hydrangea flowers on a fine French black lace complete with a hat she designed for the outfit only weeks before.
“It was a truly wonderful experience and I'm very grateful to win the sash at such a prestigious event,” she said.
First place comes with a bounty of prizes for Ms Hay to enjoy, including a Canberra Centre gift card, pearl and white gold jewelry, a modeling workshop, one night’s accommodation and a two day Mercedes Benz experience, a spa treatment, a makeover and photo shoot and cinema tickets.
