Fashion finally plays the generation game for Autumn-Winter

Former Miss Ireland Olivia Tracey, is something of a pin-up for older Irish women.

A model turned actress, grey hair didn't bother her and she embraced the silver ones in Hollywood and LA with aplomb.

Indeed on Tuesday, she turned heads as she strutted the catwalk as a slender, confident model who turns 57 next Tuesday.

What the older woman wants from their clothes is a frustrating conundrum for the over 40s, who resist being pushed off into a style cul de sac of waterfall collars, elasticated waists and a colour palette of silvers, beige and turquoise.

Tracey yesterday proved to an audience of fashion conscious millennials and social media influencers that women over 50 can look equally good in trends which younger women might think is their fashion hood.

She wore multi-floral print dress from Max&Co, a new brand to the store, with a nutmeg plaited Ralph Lauren belt, Rebecca Minkoff bag and boots..

Cue the requests: "Hey, Olivia, can I borrow your clothes?" Olivia looked equally as smart, and relevant, in her maxi green print Caractere silk dress (€280) and Luisa Cerano black trousers with red, go-faster stripe, red puffa worn with sharp white shirt and trainers.

Valerie O'Neill, Arnotts fashion buying director, said the Henry Street store was this season celebrating ageless style.

"Fashion is about expressing your individual style and exuding confidence and we have brands presenting contemporary catwalk-inspired looks to meet the demands of the modern Irish women of every age and occasion."
