Kim Kardashian West Teams With Lifetime for Beauty Competition Series

Kim Kardashian West is headed to Lifetime.

The reality star is exec producing a reality competition about beauty bloggers for the cable network, it was announced Wednesday.

Glam Masters is described as an eight-episode series that will pit some of the most creative and talented beauty bloggers against one another for an opportunity to be part of West's glam empire.

Each episode will see four beauty bloggers go head-to-head to prove they have the talent, charisma and vision it takes to be the next big name in the beauty world, all while facing expert judges. The winner each week will qualify to advance to the semifinals, where the best will battle it out for one of three spots in the tournament of masters finale. In the end, only one of these beauty-obsessed bloggers will get to claim the title of Glam Master.

West will exec produce with show creator and Style Lab host Diana Madison, also executive produces. Glam Masters is produced by Shed Media for Lifetime and will begin production this summer.

"I'm such a beauty-junkie and am fascinated by how artists are able to transform someone's look with makeup and couldn't be more ecstatic for them to show what they can really do,” said West.

The collaboration with Lifetime comes after a long relationship between West, her extended family and E!, which has been home to Keeping Up With the Kardashians for 10 years and 13 seasons. The long-running reality show has also spawned several spinoffs, most recently Life With Kylie, focused on youngest daughter Kylie Jenner.

"We are so excited to bring Kim's trend-setting vision of style and beauty to television's newest competition series," said Liz Gateley, Lifetime's head of programming. "The stakes couldn’t be higher with the chance to work with one of the most successful entrepreneurs and brands on the planet."

Additionally, most of the Kardashian family's reality ventures have been produced by Bunim/Murray Productions with the exception of the E! reality series Revenge Body, which Khloe Kardashian hosts and which hails from Lionsgate TV. Shed Media, which also produces Real Housewives of New York City and Who Do You Think You Are? among others, is a division of Warner Bros.' unscripted and alternative television.

"Kim Kardashian West is a social-media titan and a fashion icon. I'm thrilled she is on board to executive produce Glam Masters,” said Warner Bros. unscripted and alternative television president Mike Darnell.

West is the latest reality star to head to Lifetime. Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Hadid is set to exec produce and serve as a mentor on Model Moms, a modeling competition series for aspiring teen models and their "momagers." The network's other unscripted offerings include Project Runway, Dance Moms, Bring It!, Little Women and The Rap Game, as well as the upcoming Cat Deeley-hosted This Time Next Year.
