NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP GAME - THE KEYS: I cant wait for the game tonight and what should be an outstanding finish to what has been an entertaining NCAA Tournament to say the least. Nike Free Flyknit Buy Online . You can catch all of the action live tonight at 8:30pm et/5:30pm pt on TSN with the pre-game show before the 9:10pm et/6:10pm pt tip-off. Here are 3 Keys for each team. Enjoy! UCONN KEYS: 1. DOMINATE THE GUARD PLAY: Shabazz Napier and Ryan Boatright have been terrific so far in the tournament. Their ability to take you out of your comfort level with their tenacious defense and their ability to create and make their own shots is big. They are more experienced and, in my opinion, as talented, if not more talented, than the Harrison twins - they must dominate this match-up and frustrate the young guards. 2. REBOUNDING: Kentucky is +9 per game in the Tournament on the boards. That is a huge disparity and a big part of Kentuckys game is the second or third shot per offensive trip. UConn must neutralize this or theyll be in trouble. This is not one of UConns strengths. but theyve got to find a way to win the 50/50 battles and be physical. With the Wildcats, UConn is giving up lots of size inside. 3. DeANDRE DANIELS: After averaging 20 points and nine boards in his last three games, Daniels has to continue to be that versatilebig man for the Huskies inside and use his shot-making ability while facing the basket. Hes a tough cover and his ability to make the three-ball and lure you away from the hoop can take the Kentucky big out of their comfort zone a bit. They did a wonderful job stopping Wisconsins big man, Frank Kaminsky, with lots of attention. Daniels has to pick his spots, yet has to assert his game early and establish the fact that hes a guy getting lots of touches and attract the double team to open things up for teammates. KENTUCKY KEYS: 1. LATE SHOT CLOCK & GAME CLOCK SITUATIONS: The Wildcats have really impressed me with their discipline and poise in the tight situations. Decision-making with the ball and the types of plays and shots theyve been getting have been much improved over the early part of the season. Theyve been excellent at being organized and fundamentally sound on defence with a great attention to detail as the game progresses. They must continue to be sound on both sides of the ball. 2. TURNOVER MARGIN: Take care of the rock. Thats what it comes down to. Kentucky has been really steady in this regard and helped prevent run outs against their defence. They are a very good half-court defensive team that has the quickness, athleticism, size and length to frustrate opponents. You get folks into that type of game and then grind them. UConns guards want to run and create chances in open space. The fewer turnovers, the more the style of play favours you. 3. MARCUS LEE / JULIUS RANDLE / JAMES YOUNG: Energy, offensive rebounds, blocks, deflections, post scoring effort plays and paint domination are major areas that these, among many of the Kentucky young front court players, can get the upper hand over the Huskies. Beat them to the punch and be the better front court. Nike Free 4.0 Flyknit On Sale . The University of Colorado star point guard announced Thursday hes skipping his senior season and will declare for the NBA draft.(SportsNetwork.com) - The Calgary Flames will try to avoid closing out a six- game homestand with a third straight loss on Friday night as they take on the Florida Panthers. The Flames picked up a pair of wins over Edmonton around a victory against Los Angeles to begin the residency -- and stretch their winning streak to four straight -- but have since lost consecutive one-goal decisions to the New York Islanders and Detroit. Calgary was bested 3-2 by the Red Wings on Wednesday despite Mikael Backlund picking up a goal and an assist in his return to the lineup. Backlund had missed 29 straight games with an abdominal injury. Mason Raymond also scored, but backup goaltender Karri Ramo was forced to exit halfway through the second period after he collided with defenseman Raphael Diaz when coming out to play the puck. Ramo, who had allowed one goal on 13 shots, appeared to take a knee to the head and he was placed on injured reserve Thursday. Jonas Hiller allowed two goals on nine shots in relief and was saddled with the loss, though the Flames nearly bailed him out when Paul Byron appeared to score with 1:20 left. However, the play had already been whistled dead because Detroit netminder Petr Mrazek had lost his goalie mask. Thats a tough break right there to have that happen at that moment of the game, said Calgary defenseman Mark Giordano about the play. Its the right call to make, but unfortunately it probably cost us a goal. Center Josh Jooris played just over 13 minutes on Wednesday, but he was also placed on IR due to a nagging injury. The Flames recalled forward Markus Granlund and goaltender Joni Ortio from their American Hockey League affiliate in Adirondack and Ortio could see action this weekend as Calgary will begin a five-game road trip on Saturday in Vancouver. Nike Free 4.0 Flyknit Uk. . Hiller, though, will start tonight looking to keep his career record against the Panthers perfect. He is 5-0-0 in five meetings (4 starts) with a 1.13 goals against average, .963 save percentage and two shutouts. Hiller relieved an ineffective Ramo on Nov. 8 in Florida and stopped all nine shots he faced to allow the Flames to rally for a 6-4 win, their third straight over the Panthers. Johnny Gaudreau and Giordano had a goal and two assists each, while Lance Bouma had the go-ahead goal. The Flames are 4-1-1 in their past six at home versus the Panthers. Florida backup netminder Al Montoya took the loss for giving up five goals on 24 shots. He will start again tonight and is 0-1-1 versus Calgary with a 4.36 GAA and .842 save percentage. Montoya gets the call with the Panthers playing for a second straight night. They notched a 3-1 victory on Thursday as Roberto Luongo made a successful return to Vancouver. The veteran netminder, who set Canucks franchise records with 252 wins and 38 shutouts over eight seasons with the club, tied Sabres great Dominik Hasek for 11th on the NHLs all-time win list with 389 after stopping 32 shots. He was cheered by the home crowd despite now wearing a Panthers jersey as Vancouver dealt Luongo to Florida on March 4 of last season and honored with a video tribute during the game. I wasnt sure if I wanted to watch it or not, Luongo said. I didnt want to get too emotional ... the crowd reaction was great. I couldnt ask for anything better. While he didnt ask for it, getting a pair of goals from Jonathan Huberdeau was probably appreciated. Huberdeau also assisted on Aleksander Barkovs tally as the Panthers rebounded from a loss to Washington on Sunday to move to 2-1-0 on a six-game road trip.
