PLAY (Promoting Leadership in Aspiring Youth) is an organization that emphasizes high standards of leadership, public speaking, and political/social engagement in youth. PLAY seeks to introduce young adults of all ages and backgrounds to the public affairs and help raise community awareness of issues in governments of local, state, and Federal.
Our goals for all participants in the club include:
1. To provide assistance in the endeavor to master public speaking
2. To encourage the formation of individual opinion of contemporary social, political, economic, and environmental issues, without a bias towards either side of the political spectrum.
3. To teach the value of community and demonstrate various ways in which students can better the diverse communities they are a part of
4. To offer them opportunities to take a leadership role and augment their understanding about the necessary qualities of a leader
5. To encourage involvement in local politics through city councils, internships, and volunteer work
