I am a Rooster but I did not feel a bit insulted at all when reading it on the 1st Day of Year of Rooster.
A writer has the freedom to write whatever they wanted to write and we all should respect the time, efforts and hard work they put in.
I am looking forward to that Jin Shulong will write something addtionally interesting about Roosters in the Year of Rooster.

You guys read everything way too much into it. I think there was a real chicken and it's a real story about this chicken.
After 书龙 posted this story and joked banzhu should write a eulogy and I just googled 纪念白求恩 and changed some words. This is all for fun, and all are radom thoughts, it has nothing to do with "結了梁子" or "拿屬雞的殺來出氣"

大毛同志是野鸡党党员，五十多岁了，为了帮助金书龙家的的养鸡催肥战争，受野鸡党和野鸭党派遣，不远万里，来到金书龙家。去年春上到前院，后来到后院工作，不幸以身殉职。
一个野鸡，毫无利己的动机，把金书龙家的催肥事业当做他自己的事业，这是什么精神？这是催肥主义的精神，这是野鸡主义的精神，每一个野鸡党党员都要学习这种精神。
大毛同志毫不利己专门利人的精神，表现在他对打鸣极端的负责任，对吃臭虫吃蟑螂极端的热忱。每个野鸡党党员都要学习他。不少的鸡对吃蟑螂不负责任，拈轻怕重，把难吃的推给人家，自己挑好吃的。一事当前，先替自己打算，然后再替别的鸡打算。出了一点力就觉得了不起，喜欢自吹，生怕人家不知道。对别的鸡不是满腔热忱，而是冷冷清清，漠不关心，麻木不仁。这种鸡其实不是野鸡党员，至少不
能算一个纯粹的野鸡党党员。从前线回来的人说到大毛，没有一个不佩服，没有一个不为他的精神所感动。金书龙家院子里的军民，凡亲身吃过大毛医生的肉的和亲眼尝过大毛医生的汤的，无不为之感动。
我和大毛同志只见过一面。后来他给我托过很多梦。可是因为忙，仅想起过他一次，还不知他知不知道。对于他的死，我是很悲痛的。现在大家纪念他，可见他的精神感人之深。我们大家要学习他毫无自私自利之心的精神。从这点出发，就可以变为大有利于人民的人。一个鸡能力有大小，但只要有这点精神，就是一个高尚的鸡，一个纯粹的鸡，一个有道德的鸡，一个脱离了低级趣味的鸡，一个有益于人民的鸡。
