2. American Heritage

 

American Heritage, the oldest, most widely known and respected popular U.S. history magazine, provides high quality writing on the American experience for its half million readers.

 

For 60 years, the magazine has told the American story with verve, humor, compassion and, above all, authority. Edited first by Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Bruce Catton, American Heritage has published the leading historians of the last half century including David McCullough,Stephen Ambrose, Joseph Ellis, Doris Kearns Goodwin, James McPherson, and David Hackett Fischer.

 

The magazine has long been the “favorite companion of history lovers,” observed USA Today recently. It presents its stories with rich illustration, including many never-before-seen photographs and artifacts, as well as commissioned maps and artwork.

 

Over the years American Heritage has garnered many honors, including the National Magazine Award for General Excellence. Its return after a brief hiatus in 2007 was “a joy to the world of American magazine publishing,” wrote Cynthia Grenier in The Washington Times.

我们每周日的高中写作课是美国东部时间: 8:30 pm – 10:10 pm, 加州时间:5:30 pm – 7:10 pm。我们的高中写作课主要是针对美国高中生最需要、最欠缺、对于提高成绩和申请好大学最关键的Critical Reading/Writing/Thinking和CreativeWriting/Thinking等方面的能力进行系统化的综合的高强度的实用的训练。我们的学生通过长期跟班学习，将在English, SocialStudies, Science等主要课程（包括AP课）中既提分又提实力，在SAT, ACT, AP等大学申请考试中获得高分，在大学申请文书中表现突出，至于学生在写作、阅读、讲演、辩论、社交等人生关键能力上的稳步大幅提高则是自然而然、水到渠成的。　

 

我们的主讲老师Dr. Joe是美国Speech and Mass Communication博士, 多年教授美国大学生英语写作和讲演课，并长期培训美国高中生英语写作、阅读和讲演，专业设计和辅导高中升大学战略战术和文书写作，是经验丰富理论深厚的名师。

 

我们的英语写作课是以英语写作、阅读、讲演为核心，带动学生的英语学习、使用、考试(SAT, ACT, AP, SSAT等)和社交能力全面开花的真正精品。学生跟班学习，优秀的更优秀，不够优秀的变优秀。家长和学生们纷纷称赞我们的英语写作课是世界级的优质课程。

 

我们目前主要有小学1年级到高中的英语写作课，学生绝大多数是美国出生长大的孩子。为方便同学们学习，目前课程主要设在周末，而且是以网课为主，无论你在美国东岸还是西岸或者在世界的任何地方都可以跟我们最好的老师、最优秀的同学们一起上课。
