onAnother 16 inches of snow fell on the campus last night, adding to the foot or more that is already on the ground in most places. Provost Peter Salovey ’86PhD encouraged staff to stay home until 10:30 a.m. to allow for clean-up efforts. The campus shuttle bus service is suspended, and not much is moving on the streets of New Haven today.
But as always, classes are still on, though many individual classes are canceled because their teachers are stuck at home. The Yale Daily News has noted two heroic efforts in this storm and the last one: psych professor Jeremy Gray walked three miles from Hamden for his 9 a.m. class today, and chemistry prof Jonathan Ellman slept in his office on January 12 so that he would be able to teach the morning after the 19-inch blizzard that fell that night.
