Scarborough Fair - 反战版

北竹岛选择电影“毕业生”的插曲Scarborough Fair 作为个人网页的背景音乐，因为太喜欢。

Scarborough Fair是英格兰古老而重要的一个贸易集市，每年八月十五开场，国内外商贾云集，历时四十五天。从公元1253年英王Henry三世恩准开市到1788年寿终，活了500多年，相当于南宋宁宗继位到乾隆皇上赐封小燕子为还珠格格这么一段历史时期。而英格兰民歌Scarborough Fair则一直唱到今天而不衰。大概是太好听了，引无数才子佳人竞相添词加调，于是有了许多不同的Version。本人用的是Simon & Garfunkel version，即反战Version，Garfunkel在Simon的基础上添加了反越战的内容。点睛之笔是And to fight for a cause they've long ago forgotten。反战Version成为68年电影“毕业生”的插曲，风靡美利坚。

我体会这首歌是一个越战前线的士兵牺牲前唱给远方心爱的姑娘的情歌。与情歌同步的是炮火硝烟。我仿佛听到睡梦中呼唤集结的号角(Sleeps unaware of the clarion call)和将军们开火杀生的命令(Generals order their soldiers to kill)。仿佛看到一个士兵的生命渐行渐远和远方Scarborough集市上一个穿着中世纪英格兰衣裙的姑娘。曲终，我很想说，珍惜活着，珍惜爱你的和你爱的人。
