Mouse and Mole Bake a Cake

One March afternoon, Mole went to Mouse's house.  Mouse was sitting on her tree swing.  When she saw Mole, she said:"You could join me swinging. There is another swing over the other tree."

"Where?" Asked Mole.

"Over there by the garden!" Said Mouse.

They swung for a while.  And then Mole said:"Can we go inside?"

"OK."   Said Mouse.  "I have a recipe to bake a cake.  Do you want to bake a cake?"

"Let's do it!"  Shouted Mole.

"First, we need some flour."  Said Mouse.

"OK.  I am going to get some flour."  Said Mole.

"Make sure it will be one and half cups."  Said Mouse.

"Next is water." Mouse said.

"Coming right up." Said Mole.

"Now is sugar." Said Mouse.

"All right!" Said Mole.

"Next is milk!" Said Mouse.

"Wait a second!" Said Mole.

"All right, I am going to stir it right now." Said Mouse.

"When are we going to bake it?"  Asked Mole as he watched Mouse pouring the cake stuff onto a cake pan.  "It will be done later."  Said Mouse.

Then Mouse put the cake pan into the oven.  They waited and waited, until the oven timer squeaked.   "The cake is ready!"  Said Mouse.

"The cake looks good."  Said Mole.  

"Yep."  Said Mouse.  "But it needs some decorations on it."

They went to store to buy a box of cherries.  "Now, " Said Mouse.  "Let's go to the bakery store to buy some sprinkles and frosting."

They bought a box of cherries, sprinkles and frosting.  Then they went home.

They put their decorations like a real cake.  They stared at the cake for a long time.  After about two minutes, Mouse cut two pieces for each of them.

Mole ate one bite of the cake.  "That recipe really worked!"  Said Mole.

"I know."  Said Mouse.  "I bought it from the bakery store."  Mouse took one bite of the cake too.  "Yummy!"  Said Mouse.

"Let's go out and play!"  Said Mouse after they finished the cake.

"All right."  Said Mole.  They played hide-and-seek.

"Wee!"  Said Mouse.  Mouse hid behind a tree and was swinging on the tree swing.

"Mouse!"  Said Mole.  "I found you!"

"That was not my hiding spot."  Said Mouse.

"All right!"  Said Mole.  "It is your turn to be it!"

"One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten."

"Ready or Not, here I come!"  Said Mouse.  Quickly he went running everywhere to search for Mole.

"I see your dress."  Said Mouse.  She ran over to Mole's hiding spot.  Mole quickly grabbed her dress.  So Mouse can't see it again.  "Found you!"  Said Mouse.

"My turn to be it."  Said Mole.

Mouse hid behind the bushes.

They played the game until it's getting dark.  "I have to go skating."  Said Mole.

"See you tomorrow at school." Said Mouse.
