Google一下hamburger的定义，Wikipedia是这么说的：

“A hamburger (or burger for short) is a sandwich consisting of a cooked patty of ground meat, (usually beef, but occasionally pork, turkey, or a combination of meats) placed between two buns 。。。。”

不信Wikipedia？好！普林斯顿大学的WordNet（英语词汇数据库）是这么说的：

“hamburger, beefburger, burger： a sandwich consisting of a fried cake of minced beef served on a bun, often with other ingredients”

其它的参考：
Wiktionary：

“Hamburger： A hot sandwich consisting of a patty of cooked ground beef, or a meat substitute, in a sliced bun, sometimes also containing salad vegetables, condiments, or both.”

当然hamburger也可以只指汉堡包中间夹的那片牛肉。不管怎么说，从学术的观点说hamburger是一种sandwich不能算错吧？

Google一下hamburger是不是sandwich的问题， 起码有一半以上的回答是Yes. 这个至少可以说， 以为hamburger是sandwich不是中国人的误解。

最后说一句，当然现实生活中大家都知道汉堡包和其它sandwich们的区别，就像你若是想点扁豆你不会只说蔬菜。
