Wild cats

There are wild cats around my neighborhood. They must live individually for I have never seen two or more cats in the same spot at the same time. They seem not to like walking in the open areas, always sneaking along the walls or the fences or beneath the bushes. Sometimes they wander lazily around, while sometimes they walk in a crouching position, seeming having aimed on something and ready to attack. My house is a L-shaped ranch. Looking out the kitchen window beyond the porch is a line of shrubs spreading away along the wall of the other section of the house. If a cat walks along the wall or enters and leaves the porch or hides under the shrubs near the porch, I can see it. If I make a loud noise, the cat will be disturbed and run away. But, most of the time I just enjoy the sight of it while continuing my work. I can even identify a few by their colors and fur patterns. Their jumping over the fence starts with a beautiful, swift leap, and then there they go, on the fence top and over to the other side. I ask my husband leave our shed doors open, hoping some cats could catch a few rats there. In late spring and early summer, teenager cats will appear and it is time of the year to meet new friends. Their body size get growing bigger and soon some of them begin showing their big bellies. I have heard that even wild cats stay with their moms before they are old enough to leave. I have been wondering where their homes are.
