故事简介：
        清初，乔家村有狐妖作怪，有村民手执狐狸毛离奇死亡，传闻言之凿凿。出生自山东年画世家的蒲松龄（马浚伟饰）与由小玩到大的好兄弟高喆（陈锦鸿饰）都觉得事情有可疑，遂合力追查，发现有人假扮狐妖出没乔家村，更欲杀松龄灭口，幸得令狐小翠（陈法拉饰）相救。其实小翠就是松龄出生时，被松龄父亲蒲槃（岳华饰）所救的一隻小狐狸。
        松龄把狐妖案告诉蒲槃，要求父亲相助，但蒲槃反叫松龄别多管閒事，加深父子间的矛盾。及后，蒲槃赔偿乔家村村民的损失，而松龄更看到蒲槃与山东布政使郑忠邦（刘丹饰）过从甚密，认为父亲........
