Health Care Overhaul Boosts Pelosi\'s Clout上一周,8马同学signed the health care bill into law。
8马同学gave a lot of the credit for passing the legislation to Nancy Pelosi,他说:
One of the best speakers the House of Representatives has ever had, Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
在被人追问,对president calling her one of the most effective House speakers in history的感想的时候,Pelosi说:
I knew I came here to vote for health care for all Americans. That has been a pillar of who I am and who we are as Democrats, but I didn’t think I would be leading the way as Speaker of the House, that’s for sure. But let me give credit where it is due: the president of the United States. Without the leadership of President Obama, we would not where we are today.
Pelosi
1. 我是一个高尚的人,有理想的人,脱离了低级趣味,为美国人民的终生福利而努力奋斗的人;
2. 我是一个谦虚的人;
I really learned something from Pelosi.
