　　100首优雅曼妙、华丽动人的芭蕾名曲　一次感受百分百的芭蕾风情
　　芭蕾发源於文艺复兴时期的义大利宫廷，而「芭蕾」这个字来自法文，改自义大利的「BALLETTO」一字，在义大利文中，原意只是指小型的舞稻，同一个字源在拉丁文中也指舞蹈。最早在十五世纪的芭蕾，其实是把剑术舞蹈化而成的，但到了十七世纪法皇路易十四的宫廷中，发展成一种正式的舞蹈。1850年代以后，法国芭蕾被带到俄国和丹麦去，然后到了二十世纪又将在俄国发展出来的芭蕾新风格带回到西方。由戴亚基列夫所带领的俄国芭蕾舞团是将俄国芭蕾引介到西方的重要关键，他也委託了许多作曲家为他的舞团创作，直接催生许多二十世纪重要的作品，像是拉威尔的「波丽露舞曲」、「达芬尼与克罗埃」、史特拉汶斯基的「春之祭」、「彼得洛希卡」以及「火鸟」等等。从戴亚基列夫的舞团中训练出来的巴兰钦和尼金斯基，又将俄国芭蕾舞的传统带到美国，他们将古典芭蕾进一步发展成新古典芭蕾，不再穿尖头鞋，手部动作和全身姿势也都放开自由的多。从这里又催生了玛莎．葛兰姆等人的现代芭蕾，包括崔拉．莎普等，许多在美国的作曲家像柯普兰、伯恩斯坦，就为这种新式芭蕾写了许多知名的作品，像是「阿帕拉契之春」等名作。当然，许多传统不是为芭蕾谱写的音乐，也被这些编舞家使用来当作芭蕾的配乐，像萧邦的「仙子」、柴可夫斯基的钢琴协奏曲和交响曲、艾尔加的「谜语变奏曲」、法朗克的交响变奏曲，都意外地出现在芭蕾舞台上。
