It’s the Clothes, Not Your Body |
Women are their own worst enemies. If you’d taken the time to go and stand next to that clothes dummy, you would have discovered that her legs end somewhere up near your waist, her waist is tiny, and in fact there are pins in the back of the garment to shape it to the dummy and improve how it appears. Supermodels may have unrealistic body proportions, but at least they’re human – clothes dummies don’t even try to be real, so don’t compare yourself and how you look in clothes to inhuman shaped pieces of plastic. Now clothing retailers spend a lot time making sure that their clothes have ‘coathanger appeal’, now I don’t know about you, but I look nothing like a coathanger, so anything that looks good on one of those will probably not look good on me. Also, if you think about manufacture of clothes, is it cheaper to sew curved lines or straight ones? Straight of course – yet women are generally curvy, so no wonder nothing ever fits you. So next time you try on some clothes and they just aren’t working for you, I want you to say to yourself “it’s a pity these trousers aren’t made to fit over my delicious thighs” and then leave it at that, stop the negative self-talk and become more like a man. You are perfect just as you are. There are no body flaws, everything is an asset, treat your body well and it’ll love you for it. |
