美国人为什么爱国？

Sack Lunches
I put my carry-on in the luggage compartment and sat down in my assigned seat.
 It was going to be a long flight.
 ‘I’m glad I have a good book to read. Perhaps I will get a short nap,’ I thought.

Just before take-off, a line of soldiers came down the aisle and filled all the vacant seats, totally surrounding me.
I decided to start a conversation.
‘Where are you headed?’
I asked the soldier seated nearest to me.
‘Chicago - to Great Lakes Base.
We’ll be there for two weeks for special training, and then we’re being deployed to Iraq ‘

After flying for about an hour,
an announcement was made that sack lunches were available for five dollars.
It would be several hours before we reached Chicago, and I quickly decided a lunch would help pass the time.
As I reached for my wallet,
 I overheard soldier ask his buddy if he planned to buy lunch.
‘No, that seems like a lot of money for just a sack lunch. Probably wouldn’t be worth five bucks.
I’ll wait till we get to Chicago’

His friend agreed. I looked around at the other soldiers.
None were buying lunch.
 I walked to the back of the plane and handed the flight attendant a fifty dollar bill.
‘Take a lunch to all those soldiers.’

我刚收到这篇网上流传的“感人肺腑”的文章。
我很感动，但，我还没被感动的流泪，更不用说痛哭流涕，因为我不是女人，我也不是蠢人。只有女人和蠢人才会为一篇小说掉眼泪。
在美国生活了这么多年，被感动了很多次，这不是第一次，也不是最后一次。
美国人真的很爱国吗？我可以告诉你，美国人真的很爱国，但是他们更爱钱。爱国是因为爱钱。美国的精英比中国的精英更爱国。因为他们比中国的精英更聪明。他们知道只有一个强大的美国，他们才能生活的更幸福。美国是由精英来控制着的。精英是不会牺牲他们的宝贵的生命的，精英的爱国是有条件的，他们嘴上爱国。他们鼓动傻瓜蛋去爱国，去献身。克林顿爱国吗？当然爱了，否则怎么能当上总统呢！他为国捐躯过吗？没有，他通过亲戚，逃了兵役。布什爱不爱国？布什也没到越南送过死。他唯一作的是参加德州国民警卫队，干吗呢？保护德州免受奥卡拉哈马州的入侵。
高尔坐过战地记者以逃兵役。
克里坐船在眉公河上转了两个月，身上用刀子划了几条口子，光荣退役。
奥巴马就根本没服过役。
在美国你感不爱国吗？你这是政治不正确，自找苦吃。
精英爱国，是因为他们可以哄骗傻子为他们卖命。
但是穷人为什么爱国呢？他们傻吗？
他们也不傻，没有利益他们也不干的。
那些当兵的，十个有九个半是穷人家的孩子，他们生活上没有出路，不当兵能干什么？
有资产阶级的子女去当兵吗？
有多少上中产阶级的子女去当兵？
如果没有GI BILL， 还有人愿意送子女去当兵吗？
穷人当兵是没办法的办法。
那么他们爱国吗？他们的嘴上也是爱国的。爱国是有好处的，至少可以免费吃个Sack Lunches，又可以使有GUITY感的精英有赎罪的机会。正可谓一举两得。
即使明知送死，有谁会告诉别人自己是因为没办法才去当兵，那不是让别人看不起吗？
所以，美国的傻子也比中国的傻子聪明些。
反观中国，真是恨铁不成钢。
精英阶层巴不得把财富全装进自己的腰包，又可以多养几个二奶，没有想到的是你是在向火山口添柴禾，真是鼠目寸光。
劳动阶层见不得别人有钱，笑贫不笑娼。不少人还为杀警察的杨XX叫好。
