LaDonna Adrian Gaines (born December 31, 1948),[1] known by her stage name, Donna Summer is an American singer/songwriter who gained prominence and notoriety during the disco era of the 1970s with the majority of her early work produced by the team of Giorgio Moroder and Pete Belotte, earning the title "The Queen of Disco". She is a 5 time Grammy winner and has sold over 130 million records to date.[2][3]
Summer was the first artist to have three consecutive double albums reach number one on the US Billboard chart and she had four number-one singles within a thirteen-month period.[4]
