Book: Nightby Elie Wiesel

It is very disturbing to read that some schools or school boards are floating the idea of banning books. Books are not the problem, the problem is that not enough parents are reading books with their kids. I am guilty as well.  For once, I read the book Night by Ellie Wiesel after my daughter recommended me to read it when she was in junior high. It is a tough read. I am pretty sure in the back of my mind, I was wondering why and how in the world the teacher assign this book to kids.  I am sure glad that I finished reading, I was able to discuss and talk about it with my daughter.  Had this book be banned, we couldn't know the darkness of our history from a survivor's perspective.
