“I am the organizer”

The scene: Yesterday afternoon at home, high schooler was upstairs relaxing, mom was in the living room, browsing emails, dad was by the kitchen table.

The dialogue: mom says” do not be late for your event this evening, eat something before you go. By the way, do you need cash, who is organizing this event?”

The high schooler replies “ I am. I have to be there by 6”

It brought a big grin on my face.

It turns out that that is the first of a series of big events throughout the school year.
