Nook Simple Touch (NST) 破解

Nook Simple Touch is a much better e-ink product. It is much darker than Kindle first and second gen, maybe even Kindle Touch. Since it has SD card slot, it is much easier to root and install new stuffs.　
破解NST的最大动力是可以替换中文字体，安装网页浏览器。如果想，可以安装Android market，甚至Angry Birds。能不能玩游戏是另说的。按照以下的几个网页可以破解，

具体步骤如下：注意，用dd命令的时候“bs=1M”应该是“bs=1m”
1，充电，开机，注意跳过注册步骤。
2，备份。每一台机器的stock rom内含序列号，因此都不一样！注意不可用别人的。如果NST变砖头的，用复原可以救活。
3，用破解的ROM启动，进行root。

顺便讲一下，用linux或者MAC OSX是最方便的，不需要winimage，也不需要对付把SD卡分区的问题。if you only use Windows, prepare to use your SD card as 200MB partition afterwards. Hard to remove the partition from SD. Use Linux/OSX, it is soooooo much easier. Backing up and restoring image is just one simple command of "dd if=<> of=<> bs=1m".
