A TRANSNATIONAL SPURIOUS MARRIAGE

Autobiographical Account
My name is YxS, male. I came to Switzerland because of a job demand in 1986. Since then, I have been working and living here. Floriculture is one of my personal preferences and I spent a lot of time and money in growing flowers every year. I have won the prize, ‘Bern in Blumen-Preis’, for ten consecutive years as the only Chinese among those prizewinners. Under the imperceptible influence of this personal preference, I always treat people as kindly as I attend flowers.
I had been divorced from my ex-wife for years. Living alone in Switzerland made me feel rather lonely and I wanted to look for a mate to live together. In 1998, one of my friends in China found a spinster through a matchmaking service agency in China, who lived in Xi’an city, and agreed to get in touch with me. I contacted her by overseas call. She told me that her name was Hong Zhang, and she was a university teacher, lived in Xi’an city, and never married. Meanwhile, I felt her interest in me. I have great respect for teachers ever since I was a child. Of course, I desired to build a family with a teacher. I was very satisfied with Hong Zhang by her self-introduction, so I went through all the wedding formalities. Eventually, Hong Zhang came to Switzerland, and married me in May 2001.
Her Son Appeared Surprisingly
When I was dreaming of my future happy life with Hong Zhang in Switzerland, one day, she told me that she had a 14-year-old son in China, who was called Jieliang Zhang. She hoped that I could bring her son over here from China. I was really astonished by this news. Originally, she had told me that she was single and never married. How could she have such a big son?! Hong Zhang wept bitterly, and explained that she had been raped a dozen years before, and given birth to this boy. In any event, her son was innocent, pitiable and without paternal love. She had been bringing up her son alone. My heart was moved by her unfortunate and hard experiences. I not only put up with her former lies hiding true facts, but also sympathized with her unhappy life, and accepted her son. In August 2001, I helped her son, Jieliang Zhang (his true name is Yujia Zhai), come to Switzerland.
Hong Zhang Make Trouble Deliberately
During our life together, Hong Zhang often asked me to help her parents and her sister (Yue Zhang) immigrate here. Hong Zhang hoped that her sister, Yue Zhang, could also marry into Switzerland like her. When I refused her request, Hong Zhang got worse. Day in and day out, she continually urged me to find a husband for her sister in Switzerland. As a matter of fact, it was a very difficult thing because there weren’t many Chinese immigrants in Switzerland. To my surprise, Hong Zhang insisted at times that I ask an old man who lived by begging in Bundesplatz if he was married. If not, her sister would like to marry her. No matter who the man was, her sister would like to marry him provided he was a Swiss. After that, our quarrels about this matter were interminable. Sometimes, she didn’t even come home at night. Whenever I came in from work, I had to face her endless complaints. For example, why didn’t she have a house and car like other women who married into Switzerland!? These quarrels and complaints made me suspicious that her purpose for marrying me was that she only wanted to obtain Swiss citizenship rather than create a happy life with me.
Expose Her Fraud
During our life together, I gradually found that Hong Zhang, a self-called university teacher, did not even know the mathematical, physical and chemical knowledge at the level of junior high school. If you carry out a literacy test on her using junior secondary curriculums, she would betray herself. Actually, she is only a primary school graduate who knows basic Chinese characters. Her speeches and behaviour also made me have doubts the authenticity of this “university teacher”. She is a really a poor quality woman. Hong Zhang’s clumsy cheating tricks are as follows:
1. Concerning Hong Zhang Herself
· False identity
Hong Zhang’s ID number is 610113620508170 (the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th digits of Chinese ID number represent the holder’s date of birth). That means Hong Zhang was born on May 8, 1962 (620508). However, the date of birth shown on her passport is May 8, 1963. Residential address is 2-407#, Qingsong Road, Yanta District, Xi’an city, Shaanxi province, P. R. China (Her passport number is 144856415). According to the investigation of her first marriage records in Xi’an Archives and her personal records in the Exit-Entry Management Division of Xi’an Public Security Bureau, the information shown on her passport and ID cord are all faked. (Chinese registrar police could immediately verify her passport forgery by entering her passport number into computer system).
· False marital status
Hong Zhang has been married in China. Her husband name was Daojun Zhai[i], and he was born on December 27, 1954. His hometown is in Henan Province. Now, he works in the library of Shaanxi Normal University. They got married on January 20, 1981 with the wedding place being the 3rd Floor of No. 2 Jiaodan Building, Shaanxi Normal University. After that, they hosted a banquet in Xi’An May First Hotel to entertain the guests. Mr. Yingjie Zhao[ii] witnessed this wedding.
· Twenty years ago, it was stipulated in China that one family could have only one child. On the other hand, it was impossible for an employee who serves in state-owned enterprise to raise a child of shame. Therefore, Hong Zhang’s son, Jieliang Zhang (Yujia Zhai), is the most direct evidence of their marriage.
2. Concerning Jieliang Zhang (his true name is Yujia Zhai), the Son of Hong Zhang
When Jieliang Zhang (Yujia Zhai) registered in the department of education in Switzerland, he said he had graduated from the secondary school (so he should be aged 17). However, the date of birth shown on his passport is July 13, 1987. That means he was only aged 14 at that time. Jieliang Zhang (Yujia Qu) professed that he was an accelerated student. This caused my suspicion about the identities of Hong Zhang and her son. Hong Zhang once told me that her son, Jieliang Zhang, had studied in Shaanxi Normal University Dependent Primary School. So I e–mailed the photos and the experiences of Jieliang Zhang to one of my friends, Teacher Niu, who worked in Shaanxi Normal University, and asked him to look for more information about Jieliang Zhang.
· Testimony of Witness
(1) Mrs. Yang, a colleague of Teacher Niu, worked in the library of Shaanxi Normal University. When she saw the photos, she confirmed that the boy on the photos was her son’s classmate, called Yujia Zhai. His nickname was Jiajia, absolutely born in 1984, not in 1987. He had studied in Shaanxi Normal University Dependent Kindergarten, in Shaanxi Normal University Dependent Primary School, and in Shaanxi Normal University Dependent Secondary School. (This proves that Hong Zhang changed her son’s age by underhanded means).
(2) Mr. Wujiu Wang, the head of Shaanxi Normal University Dependent Kindergarden. When he saw the photos, he said, ‘Yes, Yujia Zhai! I remember him quite clearly because he was nicknamed ‘big head’’.
(3) Mrs. Yintao Weng and Mrs. Jun Dong, respectively the literature teacher (also the director of his class) and the mathematics teacher of Jieliang Zhang (Yujia Zhai) during 1991 to 1996, who were both working in Shaanxi Normal University Dependent Primary School. When they saw the photos, they also proved that the boy on the photos was Yujia Zhai. Besides, Teacher Jun Dong had heard that Yujia Zhai had gone to Switzerland. But none of them knew that Yujia Zhai changed his name to Jieliang Zhang. During 1996 to 1999, Yuejia Zhai studied in Shaanxi Normal University Dependent Secondary School. Jieliang Zhai’s birth year was changed from 1984 to 1987. Therefore, Jieliang Zhang (Yujia Zhai) should be 21 years old now.
As will be readily seen, the initial data of Jieliang Zhang’s (Yujia Zhai) passport and ID card are all faked.
Through these investigations, I finally realised that the only purpose of Hong Zhang marrying me is to immigrate herself and her son to Switzerland. When I exposed her fraud, she agreed to divorce from me without any conditions and go back to China with her son, Jieliang Zhang (Yujia Zhai), to avoid her married fact and false certificates from being exposed. Considering her son’s future, I agreed. On November 23, 2003, she and her son left my house without saying anything in advance. To my surprise, in December 2003, by falsifying evidences, this woman accused me of doing violence to her, having extramarital relations with another woman, and not allowing her to work and learn German. (Actually, I encouraged her to learn Germen in a language school three times in a year, which can be proved by the receipts of the school). When the judge heard this case in court, I submitted the notarised evidentiary materials about Hong Zhang and Jieliang Zhang (marriage record, age & name, schooling record) to the court in order to expose their real identities and bad deeds, while requesting the court to ask Hong Zhang to show corresponding proofs. If her son isn’t a visitor from outer space, she should have shown these proofs to deny my evidences. Unfortunately, my just demand was refused by the court. I really didn’t know why it was refused.
In February 2004, Hong Zhang came back to China, and went to the Yanta District Archives of Xi’an to enquire about the file of her original marriage, and attempted to destroy it by underhand means. Since her attempt failed, she was afraid that Swiss Police might come to China to make an investigation of her and her son. If so, her tricks would be exposed. Then, she faxed the Swiss Judge immediately to withdraw the action against me. However, when she returned to Switzerland, and learned that the Swiss Court normally would not go to China to make such an investigation, she brought a lawsuit again, and said to the judge that I forced her to withdraw the action by threatening to kill all her family members. What a ridiculous lie! But the judge recognized what she said. Thus, she and her son got the right to stay in Switzerland under the umbrella of Swiss law. This hurt me once again when I was in anguish due to spurious marriage.
I am very angry at Hong Zhang’s knavery. Meanwhile, I am very surprised at her tricks. In China, she forged her and her son’s certificates by illegal means. In Switzerland, didn’t she play the same old tricks? I must expose her lies and crime. I have submitted the evidences of their real identities, ages and marriage status to Swiss Court and Swiss Police.
I hereby request Swiss Police to investigate the authenticity and validity of all of their evidential materials, particularly their passports.
Hong Zhang could cross up Chinese Zhuhai people, and could cross up Swiss people, but she could never cross up those teachers and students of the Shaanxi Normal University Dependent Primary School and Secondary School where Yujia Zhai has studied and the neighbors of Hong Zhang when she lived in the living quarter of the Xi’an Petroleum University. Anyone who was acquainted with her will believe that what I write here is true. She could buy off and fix some officers in charge, but she could not fix all of the teachers and students!
I swear on my personality and life that I would be punished by Law and God if I tell a lie.

1. Around 1995, Hong Zhang came to Zhuhai city, and found a job in Zhuhai Adult Polytechnic School (address: No.2 Qianshan’gang Road, Zhuhai City) with her falsified curriculum vitae and educational qualification. During that time, her son, Jieliang Zhang (Yuejia Zhai), had been living with her with changed name and age. During those two short years, she got a house that was worth 300,000 to 400,000 RMB yuan by illegal means and with false ID card.
