a strange thing?

After accepting an offer last week, I saw last friday on careerbuilder the company posted ads for the same postion and a senior position. This is strange because I know the company only had one opening for the job title, and the HM told me they are not hiring a senior position due to budgeting constriction. What\'s going on there? Should I ask the HM for clarifying?
