A farmer is cultivating his land.
He irrigates the land with the purest water, grows the best grass.
He turns the land into a light blue meadow.
His meadow has no fence.
He likes animals coming and leaving his meadow freely.
He likes to treat his guests with his best grass.
If his guest stays, he will be delighted to share his world.
If his guest leaves, he will wish her a joyful journey in freedom.
He has no visitors so far.
He enjoys the peaceful silence of the prairie.
One day in the summer.
The farmer is resting by his oak tree.
A bunny runs into the shadow of the tree.
Farmer picks up the bunny, gently.
She is little tired,
looking for a hide out from the hunters in the forest faraway.
Farmer pets her softly.
She blinks. Her eyes are crystal clear.
Farmer immediately likes the witty bunny.
Everyday, farmer keeps cultivating his land.
Bunny is romping on the fresh grass in the songs of the wind.
Sometime, farmer also puts off his work.
He will be dancing in his sluggish steps and singing in his rough voice.
Sometime, bunny makes a mess.
Farmer pretends to be mad and cleans up the mess.
He lets her making more mess.
Every night, farmer lights a camp fire,
and tells bunny his old stories.
Bunny listens quietly.
She does not understand his words, but she likes his voice.
Life in the land has no hunting, no catching and no killing.
When time goes by, more and more little animals come and leave farmer's meadow.
The generous farmer takes out his best grass and greets all his visitors.
Sometime, he laughes and dances with his guests.
Bunny feels being left out.
One day, she blinks her eyes to the farmer.
Farmer looks at her, and sees sunset in her pink eyes.
Farmer is very sad, he knows she is leaving.
He knows she wants a perfect garden of her own.
He dose not ask her to stay.
Before the full moon rises on the horizon, farmer sees her to the border of his land.
"Do you have a name?"
Bunny puts up her long ears and bends into a "M".
"So long, M." Farmer wispers to her, "Watch out the grandma with a tail in the forest."
Farmer sees her disappearing in the junction of the plain and the sky.
In the moonlight, there is something sparkling in his eyes.
He hopes bunny can remember the best grass.
"You know where to find the rainbow." he speaks to the air in the dark.
Everyday, farmer stands by his oak tree,
sees the sunrise, sunset, moonrise, moonset.
The grass grows and grows,
and he waits and waits till the grass blocks his sight.
The fairy tale has no ending since it has no beginning.

A love story version of "watching the tree to wait for a hare"
