揭 is the last name of one of my friends, a star in art world. he told me about his name: 揭 is a rare last name in China, and Xiangyuan, his first name stands for the name of rivers in Hunan. He is the last Chinese won top prize in portrait competition, afterwards, after 2007, Americans may have enough of foreigners in this field for top position. (So my entries were totally hopeless and I decided not to be a companion for couple of years). So, my hope of 揭榜 is stalled at this time.

I'm working on another 揭榜, the book,which I think is more valuable than a portrait master piece, which is no longer a public focus anyway. But in the last century, it was like Oscar today.

I tried alone for portraiture without substantial support, I take a break now,no glory and no regret.
