湖南省华容县。华容位于湖南省北部，岳阳地区西北部，东界岳阳、南邻南县、西与安乡接壤、北抵湖北省石首和监利，地形北靠长江，南临洞庭湖，除东北部和南部系丘陵地区外，其他大部分地区为冲击平原，属湖滨平原的一部分。县内河湖密布，长江流经县境，还有藕池河、华容河及东湖、西湖、塌西湖、大荆湖等湖泊分布其间。西汉时为孱陵县地，三国时吴置南安县，南宋更名安南县，隋开皇18年改为华容县。

我家远祖是白居易，居陕西，元时先祖恒轩公讳尚吉由江西万安县令开调长沙知府，寻归故里而风阻于洞庭，泊舟华容南山，看见这里的山形像纱帽，有祥瑞之气，就留下不走了，经数代繁衍，已成大姓。清代咸丰时出了个白海仙，跟随左宗棠带兵打仗剿发匪，用反间计计杀了侍王李世贤（忠王李秀成之弟），战功赫赫，威望冠诸军，在福建做了多年的官，官声很好，后衣锦还乡，死后夫妻合葬在终南山下。
