seat, safety belt, air horn, city horn, door
window, emergency exit window, My emergency exit path is
clear, My emergency equipment I have checked, windsheld wiper and
washer fluid working, defroster working
4. (identify
gauges) secondary air tank,
primary air tank, air brake application, water temperature,
oil pressure, pyrometer, tachometer, speedometer, battery
voltage, do you want me to identify the others?
5. Next
I will listen for any air leaks. (make sure the red and yellow buttons in, shut
down the engine)I will be applying a steady brake to 30 psi, the first
time I am not allowed to lose more than 8 psi, afterthat, I am not allowed to
lose any more than 4 psi every minute.(hold the brake padel to 30 seconds)since
My gauges keep stable, I am not exceeding that limit. And I don’t have any
audible air leaks.
6. I
will deplete My air system. (start the engine) Again, each time
I apply air brake to 30 psi, I am not allowed to lose more than 8 psi each
time. (fan the brake)at or before 55 psi, My low air pressure warning
lights and buzzer will active. (when the devices active)now at 55
psi, the low air pressure active, they are working properly. (pull
out the red button)at or before 40 psi, my trailer spring brake will
apply,(pull out the yellow button)at or before 20 psi, My tractor
spring brake will apply.
7. Next
I will rebuild My air system.(put on cruise control to 900 RPM)at
900 RPM, it will take no more than 2 minutes to go from 85 psi to 100 psi, it
will tell me my air compressor and govenor working properly. Now that it take
me 40 seconds to go from 85 psi to 100 psi, My air compressor and govenor
working properly.

I will perform brake checks: 1)trailer
spring brake 2)tractor spring brake 3)trailer service brake 4)tractor service brake
9. That
will end my incab inspection and the whole pretrip inpection.
