Our primary function is to locate underground utilities (both public and private) in order to prevent possible damages during excavation or other underground activity.

Private Locator

The vast majority of public utilities will only provide locates on their owned/maintained facilities. There are many other types of facilities that they will not provide horizontal/vertical information for that may exist in the Public ROW or on Private Property. Generally a water service on private property will not be located by the municipality and private hydro lines downstream of the demarcation point are not located by the electrical distributor. The Gas Company will not locate supply lines to a pool heater, to a BBQ, or to a privately owned generator. A gasoline station owner sometimes has no records of where the gasoline lines or electrical lines are buried on their property.

Surveyors are being requested to provide greater details on underground facilities including sewer and water pipes, inverts, pipe sizing etc and our company has developed working relationships with many of these professionals for their needs.

Our company will provide all that information efficiently, effectively and at a reasonable cost for PPL (Private Property Locates) service.

  Our services consist of: Locate request receipt Site visit on every request Notice to the excavator Detailed invoice of locates completed monthly 24 hour service Equipment and materials needed to complete locate       Locate request receipt Each locate is dispatched directly to the locator in that region.  It is completed according to it is priority, within the requested time frame. Site visit on every request The locator analyses every request, and locates the network according to plans provided by the client.  All outside plant in conflict with the work area (as provided by the excavator) will be marked with paint, stakes or flags. The locator will then complete a form outlining the network with tie-in measurements taken from topographical features. If the network is not in conflict with the work area, the locator will also provide the excavator with a locate form. Notice to the excavator Every excavator is notified of their request results when the locate is completed. (On site when present or by fax) Detailed invoice of locates completed monthly Sent monthly, the invoice shows the number of locate requests completed.  A list of numbered requests is also available upon demand. 24 hour service We provide 24 hour emergency service. Equipment and materials needed to complete locate Our locators use locating equipment of the highest quality.  Each locator also uses a computer with mapping software installed.  We use water-based paints, wooden stakes, and flags of various colors according to the utility located.
