Why am I still tuning in CNN, in spite of what they said

It might be because I live in America. Once a while I still watch CNN. My favorite cable news is Fox news, though. I also cross watch MSNBC, ABC and CBS, CCTVs for news.

During Tibet crisis, people have been very critical of CNN reporting on the event. And CNN also responded to those criticisms. To step back and think why I am still tuning in CNN, really, I found that I still believe CNN is more responsible, more balanced, more objective, more ethical, more accurate, more comprehensive as oppposed to CCTV. I do not feel I should drop CNN because of this Tibet blunder on their part. After all, the nature of those mistake is not terribly out of line news reporting standard and ethics, in my opinion.

However, the mistakes made by CNN in Tibet reporting have been believed by many here as made on purpose. I am not ready to say it, simply because I do not have evidence. But I do not believe that it is reasonable or justified that due to CNN reporting mistakes, freedom of speech itself should be attacked.

So, I will continue to watch CNN as one of my sources of news and be more mindful that they could make a mistake . Compared to CCTV, CNN still has much, much higher standard in my view, in spite of those mistakes. I feel very comfortable with CNN\'s way reporting. Their reporting are comprehesive. They break news right on spot. They always respond to audience\'s voice. They provide live reporting on immportant stories. They cover wide topics. Their anchors are not very young(Being young in serious news broadcasting is not a plus). They are very professional, intelligent, knowledgable and very quick. They engage guests very professionally and ask good questions and etc on behalf of audience. All in all, they are fast and accurate. Among all these qualities, I do not see any of these in CCTV. That is why I believe they are in different business, even though they are using the same technology of TV. CCTV is news reporting business and CCTV in propaganda business. (Do not misunderstand me. There is nothing wrong with using TV for progaganda. That is big part of being CCP)

I remember that one time I saw CCTV anchor girl showed kind of smile while reporting a terrible tragedy in China. my family and I were so taken back. TV broadcasting uses both oral and facial communications. They simply do not have any idea. All they know is to read and how to do makeup and dreesing-up to look young. Often times, some anchor girls look so young that I even believe that they could use their both hands to count all their periods they had in their whole life. The girls like these really do not do any help with CCTV seriousness on topics.
