Index funds vs index ETFs

Basically, there is no much difference btw index fund and ETF if you are a long term investor no matter which broker to use.

ETF is trading like a stock.  http://finance.yahoo.com/etf/education

While

Mutual fund, http://finance.yahoo.com/funds/mutual_funds_101

investor needs to consider the followings besides understand Prospectus of the fund before investing:

 

-        fees, e.g. is it NTF (no-transaction-fee) funds?

- cut off time to buy or sell;

- short term redemption fee;

and so on...
