百合之最 – 非洲皇后【图】

百合，或以艳丽，

香水百合

或以浓郁的香味，引人驻步。至于哪种百合最艳丽，最芳香，恐取决于不同人的喜爱，难有一致标准


常见的百合花多为0.5～1米高左右。这种有近一人高，


花朵虽大，颜色也很鲜艳，但没有香味。


今年见到学校示范花园中增添的这位“非洲皇后”，


不得了哇，至少有3米多高，和篮球架差不多，堪称世界最高的百合（树）了。


6月份开花，花朵成喇叭状，


有一尺多长，花叶厚实，网上说有香味，但这几棵却没有




按说女皇轻易不会低下高贵的头，这非洲皇后几乎垂到地上


不知是头饰太重还是身材过于苗条(枝干直径约4～5厘米)

在一些国家，女皇地位高于国王，这棵名为路易十四（Louis XIV’）的百合显然逊色于非洲皇后，身高为5 英尺，花朵也小得多

蜀葵，又名一丈红，高达2米至3米

种过几种高大的花，明年看看能否请这百合女王屈尊移驾

African Queen' is a vigorous lily with erect stems. In late midseason, large, fragrant, trumpet-shaped flowers,
brownish purple outside, yellow to apricot inside, are borne in racemes. Deadhead spent flowers, but wait
until stems and leaves turn yellow to cut back to within a few inches of the ground. Spring and fall are the best
time to transplant, even though they can be transplanted any time. Provide ample moisture while flowering, but
can take periods of drought otherwise.
