When my sight set it’s way
Upon the loveliness of your face
In our teens
Your smile was divine
Your beautiful almond eyes
I made mine
Your tender lips taught me
The art of a lovely kiss
Though we were in our teens
That day you made my heart
Skip a beat
Everyday I laid my eyes
Upon the sweetness of a vision
That was you
Like That of a rising sun.
I felt my heart racing
out of control
Butterflies and silvery snakes
Dwell within my stomach
At the mere sight of you
Until that last day
I kissed you
When sad goodbyes
were said.
Four decades ago, I last saw a tear
Fall from her eyes
Relocation
Pilfered you away from me
Eternally, faith parted us
A Thousand Miles Away
I will never forget
That last day, I too
Shed a tear
Away from your sight
For in those days
A man Was not supposed to cry
We stayed in communication
Just a few years
Until another stole your heart
Away from me.
Your raised your own family
At a tender age
I went to war
Several years down the line
I was blest by the lord
Then I too traveled down
That same road .
Dreams of you, still torment
My heart and soul
Awakening
My most valued treasured
Memories
Of a love we shared
At such a tender age
I often wondered
If you still think of me
Or in your dreams
I could ever be?
This morning
I woke with a smile
I saw you in my dreams
As we were then
Once again
You made the sun rise

And shadows disappear
You still dwell
In the loving chambers
Of my happiness
No one could ever steal
