Today is the one month anniversary of Sichuan earthquake, or so called China earthquake in oversea. The earthquake, and China, will once again be talked about in various media, such as BBC, CNN, ABC, etc. Unfortunately,I can bet the sympathy and constrain will be gone with the victims to heaven, the views hanging around will be again cynic, critical, and biased. Before the earthquake, there was a movement within Chinese to denounce the report of western media. It vented the anger of the majority of Chinese and also forced the western media to rethink their approach to China and Chinese. I believe it is a great opportunity now to reach out to western media and western people.

Bias always comes from ignorance. Instead of letting a handful reporters to depict the vast and diversified China, why don\'t let us do the work ourselves. If we can speak a second tongue, why don\'t we introduce China in that language. Write an essay, translate an article, set up a blog, feed a news agent, we can use our brain and hand to build a positive image on the world. Don\'t just sit and read, angry and grunt, get up and change them. Let them know that Chinese people are normal but noble people, we have ups and downs, but we must have some merit to consistently mark the history for over five millenniums. We can build our soft power together, and let the world to laugh what we laugh, grief what we grief, angry what we angry, and happy what we happy.

For this purpose, we have set up a blog 2008earthquake.org to collect and translate touching stories happened after the devastating earthquake, and feed some of them to CNN Ireport. Everyone is welcome to join us or simply set up your own blog or circle on any theme. The goal is to push the positive news and stories into western media and western people. We hope we can have our own world grade media. At this moment, we need to take advantage of western network to dissipate the positive image of China to every corner of the world.

Again, let\'s act to change. The world will be more friendly tomorrow.
