                                         Infant Feeding guide
                      Feed from 9 to 12months
Breastmilk or 
infant formula with iron        24-32ounce       Continue providing 
                                         formula if baby is not breastfed.
                                         Baby probably will not need more  
                                         now that he/she is eating variety 
                                         of foods.
Iron-fortified dry infant cereals

                                            1/2 to 3/4 of a 4 oz.jar of strained baby meats.  Use plain strained meats,No “dinners”.
                                                                                   Use strained orpureed meats and beans until 10 months of age,then serve finely 
                                                                                   chopped meats,chicken and fish..
                                                                                   Continute to mash cooked dried beans.
                                                                                   Avoid using bacon,lunch meats or hot dogs.
                                                                                   Eggs are not recommended until 1 year of age.
                                              Finger foods
 At 9 months of age most babies should ba able to feed themselves and can try some finger foods. Babyies do notto have teeth to begin finger foods.
Finger foods should be small and moist enough to be chewed and swallowed withoutdifficultly.Fruits should be very ripe.Other foods should be cooked to the point where they can be mashed easily or cut into small pieces.
Examples of appropriate finger foods are: cooked macaroni or noodles,small pieces of bread,small piece soft, ripe,peeled fruit or soft cooked vegetables.Small slices of mild cheese can also be used as a finger food.
Finger foods can be given if baby seems hungry between meals.
Only feed your baby in the upright position to prevent choking.
When giving finger foods to your baby, you should be close by in case of choking. FOOD TO AVOID ARE: raw vegetables, pieces of meats, fruit skins, hot dogs, raisins, nuts , popcorn, hard candies and whole grapes ,or cherries.
