AGLAIA ODORATA
Chinese Perfume Tree
For those of you in search of fragrant plants, you have just stumbled into something different to add to your collection. This aromatic shrub is a member of the mahogany family. The scented yellow blooms can be enjoyed several times a year. Aglaias are easy to grow but they are kind of slow. They are still rare and you may not find much information on them in the Internet. We grow them in filtered light, but they can grow in full sun also. They should survive minimum temperatures in the upper 20's with no problems.
It is an upright grower and resembles orange jasmine.
