　　《大瓷商》以景德镇为背景，讲述了几代陶瓷人的悲欢离合以及民族陶瓷工业兴衰成败的历史。《大瓷商》男主角陶昌南最终由夏雨中选，吴子牛导演认为，虽然夏雨这些年出演的角色并没有什么与陶昌南吻合的部分，但是夏雨身上的表演潜质是吴子牛所看好的。特别是夏雨这一代的男演员目前都进入艰难的转型期，一个年龄跨度相对来说非常大，同时前后性格特征变化强烈的角色，对于夏雨来说既是一种挑战又是一个机遇。而蒋勤勤则是复出之后首次出演女主角。此次夏雨与蒋勤勤将在剧中出演一对历尽波折的夫妻，这也是这两位演员的首次合作!
