My NIW petition was sent to VSC in Sept, 2005 and was than transferred to NSC in May 2006. A RFE was issued in Sep. 2006.
Qualification: I am a postdoc fellow in a top medical school. I have published 26 articles [13 English (6 of 13 is first author, including a review)] and they have been cited more than 50 times by independent researchers. I have more than 20 coference abstracts and oral presentation. For my initial petition, I had 7 ref letters from not big shots. I sent five more letters for the RFE. My papers were reported more than 30 times in online media. I don't have fellowships or conference awards. These are the basics of my qualification.
I sent the RFE on Dec. 5th 2006, got LUD on Dec. 9th showed below.
"On December 7, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This case is at our NEBRASKA SERVICE CENTER location. ...blah blah"
Let's start a thread about the RFE in NSC. We can get better sense about the timing of this tough issue in NSC. Both NIW and EB-1 are welcome!
